Yairelys Sosa

Founder/ Artistic Director/ Principal Ballet Instructor.

Yairelys Sosa is a classically trained ballet dancer and educator with a strong foundation in Cuban ballet technique and an extensive professional career. She began her training at the Cuban National Ballet School in Havana under the direction of Ramona de Saá, where she quickly distinguished herself for her discipline and talent. During her training, she received international recognition, earning top awards at a young age and graduating at the top of her class with a Professional Dancer and Teacher diploma.

Following her graduation, Yairelys joined the National Ballet of Cuba under the direction of Alicia Alonso. There, she trained and performed alongside internationally recognized artists such as Lorna Feijóo, Carlos Acosta, and Viengsay Valdés, while working with renowned choreographers including Alberto Alonso. She was also coached by legendary ballet maîtres such as Loipa Araújo, Josefina Méndez, and Aurora Bosch, experiences that deeply shaped her artistic development.

During her time with the company, she toured extensively across Europe, Africa, Latin America, and Australia, performing a wide and demanding repertoire. Her roles included principal and soloist work in classical ballets such as Don Quixote, Swan Lake, Giselle, Coppélia, and Les Sylphides, along with many other productions across classical, neoclassical, and contemporary styles. Her versatility and strength as a performer led to her promotion to soloist.

Yairelys later continued her professional career in Canada with Alberta Ballet under the direction of Jean Grand-Maître, where she performed in productions such as The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Swan Lake, Giselle, Othello, and Madama Butterfly, among many others.

After retiring from the stage, she transitioned into teaching, where she found her true passion. She holds Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) teaching certification and continues to develop her approach to ballet education. As an Artistic Director, she is known for her attention to detail, her strong technical focus, and her ability to guide each dancer with care and intention.

Her teaching integrates the structure of RAD, the refinement of Vaganova training, and the strength and dynamism of Cuban technique. She is deeply committed to helping dancers develop not only strong technique, but also confidence, discipline, and artistic expression.

For Yairelys, teaching goes beyond ballet—it is about shaping dancers who move with purpose, understanding, and confidence, both in the studio and on stage.
