Year-Round Ballet Performance Opportunities

At AA Classical Ballet School, performance is an essential part of every dancer’s education. Throughout the year, students have multiple opportunities to perform in a variety of settings, allowing them to develop confidence, artistry, musicality, and valuable stage experience. Our performance calendar includes in-studio presentations for families, seasonal showcases, Summer Camp demonstrations, community performances, our annual Winter Production of The Nutcracker, and Elevation, our year-end theatre production celebrating each dancer’s achievements. These experiences give students the opportunity to share their progress with family and friends while learning the discipline, teamwork, and professionalism that come with preparing for live performances. Whether stepping onto the stage for the very first time or performing advanced classical repertoire, every dancer is encouraged to grow in a supportive and inspiring environment. At AA Classical Ballet School, every performance is more than a presentation—it is an opportunity to celebrate hard work, build confidence, create lasting memories, and experience the joy of performing through the art of classical ballet.

Examinations & Structured Progress

At AA Classical Ballet School, students may have the opportunity to participate in both Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) examinations and Vaganova examinations, depending on their training pathway and level. The RAD syllabus provides an internationally recognized system of graded and vocational examinations, helping dancers develop technique, musicality, artistry, and confidence through a structured progression. The Vaganova method, renowned for its emphasis on strength, precision, artistry, and expressive movement, offers students a comprehensive classical ballet education. Eligible dancers may also prepare for Vaganova examinations as they progress in their training. Every student is carefully assessed before entering an examination. We believe examinations should be positive, rewarding experiences that celebrate progress, build confidence, and encourage continued artistic growth rather than simply measuring achievement.

Ballet Competition Preparation

At AA Classical Ballet School, competition training is viewed as a carefully guided extension of a dancer’s artistic development—not a requirement for every student. Dancers are invited to participate only when they have developed the technical foundation, maturity, and confidence needed to benefit from the experience. Competition preparation is highly individualized, with focused coaching that emphasizes classical technique, artistry, musicality, precision, and stage presence. Every variation and performance is selected to complement each dancer’s strengths while supporting long-term growth.

For the 2026–2027 season, selected students will have the opportunity to participate in:
* World Ballet Art Competition (WBAC) Grand Prix – Calgary (October 2026)
* Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) (Early 2027)
These internationally recognized competitions provide valuable opportunities for dancers to perform, receive professional adjudication, gain stage experience, and continue developing as artists within a positive and supportive environment. Participation is by invitation and based on each dancer’s readiness, commitment, and personal goals.
Our priority is always the dancer’s healthy development, ensuring every competition experience is meaningful, educational, and enjoyable rather than focused solely on results.
